Did some Google and forum searching and can't find a solution to this issue.

My hardware specs are as follows:

Asus P6T6 WS Revolution
Intel Core i7 920 2.66GHz
24GB G.Skill Ripjaws DDR3 1600
HD5870
HighPoint RocketRAID 2680 with 8 HDD's.
Corsair 1000HX 1000W PSU

I'm on my second USB 3.0 card, thought the first one was bad, so returned it and bought a second one. This is the one I went with, figured the reviews were good enough for me. http://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B00B6ZCNGM/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

This is happening with both cards. Power off the machine, put in USB 3.0 card, apply power and nothing. No boot, no beeps, no nothing. Pull power from the USB 3.0 card, machine powers up. Device manager sees it and driver works just dandy, however can't see anything plugged into it.

Power off machine, reapply power to card, no bootie boot. Pull power from card, boots just fine.

Tried changing PCI-e slots, tried changing power cables, tried changing cards.

Help.

Are you saying that your computer won't boot whenever you plug in the USB card?

Or are you saying that your computer won't recognize either card?

Won't boot/post when power is applied to the card.

If the card is in and no power, boots fine, but can't use the card.

How old is the power supply?

Do you have the link to the first USB card you used?

I couldn't find anything myself to help diagnose your problem.

I checked out some of the Amazon reviews on the USB card. A few of the one-star and two-star reviews suggested that your particular card may have some compatibility issues with certain motherboards (and one of those boards was an Asus). However, the card also had over a hundred five-star reviews, which suggest that those issues may be anomalies.

Are you using the most current BIOS update on your motherboard? Have you tried looking for a more current set of drivers for the USB card (and installed said drivers before reconnecting the card)?

I can't really think of any other troubleshooting steps you could take. If the above two don't "work," then I believe that your board is incompatible with the card (though there's really no reason why that should happen...).

Latest BIOS and drivers are hard to load drivers when the machine won't work when card is installed and powered.

I assumed that you would try them without the card first.

But sadly, that's the best I could do.

Just a guess....

That board has a nForce200 chip on it so the PCIe lanes are distributed in a non-standard way. Try moving your graphics card to another slot and then add the USB 3.0 card. There may be options in the BIOS to manage PCIe lanes. Just a guess.
