Not sure if this is the right place for this, since the problem ended up being Windows, but it's the first place I looked for help so....

I built the rig in my sig a few weeks ago. I'm very happy with the performance and the OC is Orthos stable at 22.5 hours, the longest that I've let it run.

I had a problem with S3 standby from the very beginning. Stock clocked or over clocked it would crash coming out of standby 100%. Hibernate would crash and restart sometimes going in and would crash and restart about 50% on resume. Very frustrating. I was wondering about the video drivers since my previous build (AMD/nvidia) would sometimes not reinitialize the display coming out of standby and it definitely changed behavior with different video drivers.

Yesterday I found http://support.microsoft.com/kb/889673 and installed the hotfix. Standby works perfectly ever since! I have not tried hibernate again, since standby works so good now.

I hope this helps others who were frustrated by this issue.

Which CM case do you have and how do you like it? I am putting together a system with the stacker 830. It's much bigger than I thought. I'm gonna run it with 7 fans (1 front, one rear, 1 top, 4 side). If you have a similar setup let me know how you like it and if it's noisy with so many fans. Thanks.

I have the Stacker 810. My PSU (PCP&C 850) is too long for the top PSU mount, so it's bottom mounted. I have 2 drive cages with 120mm fans (intake), a 120mm exhaust, 80mm side intake and 80mm blowhole in the top. The video card fans are louder than the case fans.
