I just completed the build on my new machine and have run into lotsa issues.

I got some Kingston Hyper-X DDR2 675 RAM. Motherboard will not post with this RAM in Dual Channel. Will run fine with them in DIMMs next to each other.

Here is my serious issue...

I can not run the computer for more than 5 minutes without it locking up. The northbridge heatsink gets extremely hot. It is so hot it burns my finger. What could be causing this? I got this motherboard off ebay, did I just get ripped (only 40 bucks...too good to be true)?

I am thinking about just getting a new mobo. I might plop down the money for a ASUS P5NSLI from newegg.

EDIT: I just downloaded SpeedFan and my NB temp is 126C...holy crap...that can't be normal!

Read my post above yours for my experience with the P5NSLI. Save your cash and skip that board, too.

my northbridge was about 160f before it started crashing... i jury-rigged a 80mm fan onto it and now it's nice and cool at 95f .. stopped my crashing completely. I actually fried the temp sensor on it, now I have to use my external probe..

get some cooling on that sucker. I really dont care for the design of that chipset cooler. Give me a bigger heatsink or active cooling!

p5nd2-sli is a decent board imo, I really like it. I've gotten my 805 up to 3.9ghz stable, but running it at 3.6ghz now-a-days so I'm not sucking as much power.
