I'm having some weirdness with my system. I came back from a week vacation and my system wouldn't boot. I had the box unplugged during our absence in case of thunderstorms. I reset the BIOS, removed the 9600GT, and hooked a VGA cable up to the integrated graphics. The system booted. I figured the PSU may be weak or the 9600GT puked.
I took it to work where I have lots of spare parts. When the PCI-E slot has a card in it, the power LED won't come on for 15-20 seconds, then the system boots but only with the integrated graphics. I swapped the PSU, same problem. I tried a nvidia quadro PCI-E card. Same problem. I tried a generic ATI PCI-E card that doesn't require additional power. The same results. I removed all the drives and memory (except for one stick)... same problem.
I'm stumped other than getting the board replaced under the 3 year Asus warranty.
Can anyone offer assistance?
