I have the following set up:
Q6600
P5B-VM SE
Evga 8800 GTX
620-HX Corsair PSU
2GB Crucial RAM
Various HDs and so on.
When I returned home (having left the PC on) I found the machine making a continuous beeping noise and turned it off. Now when I boot it up again the machine shows no video at all (the monitor stays in power saving mode) with the fans running but otherwise no response. The machine does not switch off when the power button is pressed, even when it is held down for 15 - 20 seconds. It also powers on immediately that the PSU is plugged into the mains, without the power button on the case being pressed.
I switched the PSU for one that I have in another machine and the machine again responds to the power button, and the machine does not power on as soon as it is plugged into the mains. I am unable to plug in the normal GPU as the replacement PSU does not have 2 PCI-E connectors to power it. Therefore I am trying to run the machine using the integrated GPU that is a part of the P5B-VM SE model, however there is no video output from the integrated GPU.
Is there anything that could be preventing the operation of the integrated GPU, such as incorrect jumper settings or BIOS settings that disable it?
If not, should I assume that the motherboard is not functioning correctly?
Thanks in advance for any help.
