As everyone with this mobo knows, using ram that requires 2.0Volts would require you to buy a stick of 1.8Volts ram and overvoltage in bios before replacing it with the 2.0Volts ram.

It is hard to overclock my system when i overclock too much and have to reset bios. I have to take out the 2.0V ram and replace it with 1.8V to start it up again.

Is there some sort of mod, be it physical or a BIOS mod that makes BIOS default at 2.0V ram?
 
I have a pic of the vdimm voltmod if you need it,but to me it sounds like this is a bios issue,quite common this days. The mobo manufactures are having a bit of a problem keeping the bioses up to date with all the new ram standards and spd programming.

On all rams rated 667 and below,this is not a problem (a few exeptions),but as memory are getting faster and faster the vdimm is also higher on those fast ramsticks,but some ram rated 667 also have high voltage,ex Crucial PC5300 10`th anniversary,they are rated 2,2vdimm with 3-3-3-8 timings.

I think only a biosupdate is the answer here, IF you are doing the vmod,it can fix the problem,but youre warranty is also blown away.

So,keep youre cheap ram also,and wait for a new bios,if not innbox me and ill send you the vdimm mod.
 
yea i do keep the cheap ram cause i know i'll need it again.

are there any third party mod of bios maybe? i mean you only need to tweak the ramvoltage to default at 2V instead of 1.8V

I would definitely be interested in the Vdimm mod. Does it add a .2v offset to the voltage? If so that's exactly what I'm looking for!

For the powerup issue I put a stick of my Patriot ram in the fridge to cool it off then used it to boot. I quickly went and set the bios voltage to 2.1v. It always boots now but I'm limited to about 835mhz at the 2.1v setting.
