P5B Deluxe & 3210 Problem

I was running this combo for a couple day. Decided to lap cpu as I was getting high temps and bad contact between ApogeeGT block and IHS. Lapped it, not to mirror finish. Reinstalled started mobo, fans and everything fired up but no vid signal. Shut down cleared cmos even removed battery for 1/2 hour same thing no signal. I installed another cpu in the mobo and damned if it was not same result. Decided to install the 3210 in my second P5B Deluxe so removed the E4300 and installed the 3210. Same exact thing, no vid signal. Reinstall the E4300 and same thing. Looks like the 3210 has killed 2 of my P5B,s. How can a simple lap job cause this cpu to do this. I wiped down the edge of the cpu and used compressed air to be sure it was dry before reinstalling after finishing the lapping.

Hooray time for another long tedious troubleshoot session. At least you know that your combo was working initially. Could be any number of things; faulty power connection with the video card, bent cpu socket pin, or even a bad ram stick. I had a similar problem, I had just installed a new HD and redid some wiring and my comp would not post. It turned out that a memory stick decided to die during the HD installation leading me to believe it was related to the immediate work I had just done. Took a long time to narrow it down. I pulled the ram out and replaced, vid card is a 7600GT so no power connector, also pulled it and tried a pci slot vid card. Same in both P5B,s.
 
Sent the 2 P5B,s in for RMA. Got home from work, decided to give the 3210 a alcohol bath and used a can of air to dry it. Stuck it in my DFI Infinity and it booted right up. I am a Very Happy Hardass.:D:D:D
 
Very strange.....congrats on resolving the problem, sometimes i hate computers.
