p4c800-e OC problem

well i am trying to oc again, and this time with a sata drive ( raptor )

and seems that i am stuck in the 245-250 FSB range

mobo: p4c800-e with 1016 bios no mods done
hdd: 1x 74 gb raptor sata, 1 x 200gb seagate ide
1 x cd drive ide with seagate hdd
1 x floppy
4 x 512 bh-5 kingston hyperx ram ( performacne loss? )
x800pro agp
radeon 7000 pci
2port usb card


anyway thats my setup basically and oh i almost forgot to mention my chip
3.0c northwood d1 stepping 9 ( not a 30 capper.. )

anyway im running cpu/ram 5/4 for now and basically i can gte to 245 ( dunno if its stable just wanted to cehck if itll go into windows ) and after that, nothing. just freezes up right before the windows loading bar comes up or just blanks out right before.

now i believe its my sata thing? correct me if im wrong. anyway im gonan get a pci sata card ( is there a performacne loss if i use pci card to boot my harddrive? ) and see if i can fix that. for some reason my onboard promies ontroller doesnt want to work ( if you guys have a fix on that too thatl be great ) just doesnt watn to boot or antyhing. set all the right options, but when it comes time for it to be detectd ( it is detected when its scanning for drives rigth at the beginning, but when booting or in windows xp dos menu, it doesnt show/ it freezes ) it just doesnt want to.

any help woudl be nice. i konw this chip can do more than 250fsb i jsut dont know..

Did you do a volt mod to your P4C800-E? I know my computer would freeze when the voltage fluctuated from 1.68->1.536 at 230mhz bus. People say our mobos need this mod inorder to shine. Drop your OC back and monitor your cpu voltage under idle and load conditions.
