I just switched out my previous mobo for a P4C800-E Deluxe, and a 512MB DIMM that I bought destabilises the PC. The RAM worked fine for over a week in another PC running 24/7(P4P800 vanilla) at its rated speed(DDR333), and I tested it at rated speed in this mobo but it didn't work. Any explanation why?

Is your P4 an 800MHZ FSB chip or a 533FSB chip? If it is a 800MHz FSB chip then you need DDR400 to run stock, and this being DDR333, that would be why its not stable anymore. Hope this was any help.

It's a 533MHz FSB chip. However, even 800MHz FSB chips can run DDR333 with a divider. Regardless, as I stated in my first post everything was running under spec. I will probably be buying another RAM chip, but I'd still like to get this one working if possible.

How would that help? The RAM is running at stock, so more volts shouldn't make a difference.

the board and the ram might not get along well together, more volts may help?

or you have dust in the memory slot? i dunno. are you running that one stick by itself?

I've got three sticks, two 512MB and one 256MB. I'm trying to run them all together, but that one 512MB stick just won't play well with the others. I tried it in several slots, so that doesn't seem to be the problem. I'm going to try and get my hands on another 512MB DIMM. but I guess I'll also try feeding more volts into the RAM.

Haven't tested it yet by itself in this particular machine, so it could be a conflict between it and the mobo. I'll probably do so tomorrow.
