I'm new to P4's. I've always owned an AMD chip.
Anyway, i just built a P4 system for a friend and he wants it overclocked. I have no problem doing that.
I just want to know what a safe voltage would be.
I'm gonna be running a 2.4C as fast as i can.
I have a p4c800-e deluxe, 1GB Corsair TwinX PC4000Pro, Thermalright 800U, and an Antec TruePower 430.
I don't want to burn out the chip, but at the same time i want to make sure its getting the juice to stay stable.

its good to stay below 1.7

you shouldnt have to much trouble with the 2.4 OCing, and you shouldnt need to get the voltage that high

I used to run a 2.4C at 3.1 with stock voltage. You may not even need to up it more than a few steps in the bios.

yah if your chip wont keep stable at around 1.65 i doubt you going to be able to get any more mhz out of it, just my opinion though

That's pretty much true. I wouldn't raise cvore over 1.7.

thanks for the info guys. I'll trying that out as soon as the chip gets here. should be tomorow.
Also, does anyone know what kind of voltage i need for the ram? (TwinX PC4000PRO)
