So what are the temps to watch out for, for a P4 2.4c

How much heat can these things take?

Currently at 140F CPU, 107F CHipset, and 95F case is what mbm5 is telling me.

edit: THose temps are at 100% load.

P42.4C @ 2.8

i am overclocking my Dell 400SC :p

things are holding at 140F now to see if i get any errors.

I think i will keep it at 2.8 cause the damn temp sensing fan is spinning up to a noise level i can just barely deal with.

I didn't think Dell computers could be overclocked, but i guess i was wrong.

Some quick mental math tells me thats around 45C which is fine. Your other temps are accordingly lower so I doubt there's a problem.

In the future however I'd suggest using Celsius, as most people do now for these things.

If your fan is too loud, you could try replacing it with a more efficient one, if you're using the stock Dell fan I bet you could find something a little better.

140F = 60C

Maximum Temperature in Celcius for 2.4C = 74C

I should be good i guess..

Well my quick mental math was wrong. :p

edit: now that i think about it, that did seem low
