heh, yesterday when i reinstalled the cpu into the new mobo, the cpu temp was around 75*F and today it is around 80 at the bios hardware management thingy. i am using a CQ cooler. and can u guys tell me the temp it should be at and when it should be overheated. when i touch the heatsink, it is cool.

got that temp in Celcius? Farenheit may be OK for weather forcasters, but most of us measure CPU temps in Celcius.

My P4 is running a little hot right now, it reaches 50C under full load. I have seen P4s running just fine at 60C load, however I personally would feel a little nervous.

It sounds like your CPU (at around 44C) is just fine, don't worry about it.

um....80F is 26.6C

Thats a VERY GOOD temp. Dont worry. Usually your comp wont have problems till around 130F-150F / 54.4C-65.5C

d'oh, I forgot to subtract, before dividing. Yeah, 26.6 is incredible.

u guys know any good program other then motherborad monitor to monitor my cpu temp and the system temp?

If you have an ASUS mobo use the software that comes with the board :)

I'm currently running at 30* idle.. which was higher then it used to be it seems like, maybe before it was just cooler in the room then it is now?

Also would the temp go up at all if I were playing music constantly using WMP?

EDIT: Once I actually let it get idle (set for about an hour or so) my temp went down to 25C :)

when you say it idles at this temp, do you mean the lowest temp or the average temp?

and same for full load. what program do you run to test its full load
