P4 price drop?

Is there any news about the prices dropping on the P4s, like the 2.4C? I'd really like to complete my upgrade sometime before I die, but 160 for a 2.4C is a little too much for my budget.

The P4C 2.4 and 2.6 are being phased out. Prices will drop next month on Intel processors after the intial release of the prescott processors. Here's a fairly current price roadmap for Intel: http://www.xbitlabs.com/news/cpu/display/20031203151532.html.

Intel phases out P4's around $175, they tend to very slowly drop in price from there. And generally you won't find any good value/deals for a P4 CPU below $150ish. Very rare to get a current generation P4 core below that, regardless of clockspeed.

Well, I guess you will have to die then.... As long as Intel has/maked Celeron line, their main P4 line pricing will not drop below $100 point. Sorry, you must die now...

I remember seeing 1.8a's for around $110 lately. I just bought one locally and it hit 3.3GHz on default voltage.

Well, if they won't drop, i'll get the cheapest new cpu, which looks like the 2.8 on that site. About the same as a 2.6C....need a job bad.
