I'm looking for some good bios setups for overclocking or optimizing my system.
I have an abit ic7g max advance 2 mb with a 3hgz p4 (stepping 3 rev C0) i dont know if thats bad or not i read that the D1 seems to be the best p4 for occing. I have a radion all in wonder 9800 pro 128mb, 1 gig dual channel golden dragon pc3500 ram.. i think thats all the specs you need.

If anyone could check it out and tell me how to do it better let me know. I tend to have a little jitterlag under big explosions and large populated areas. I didnt seem to have this with my last abit xp proc and same video card so i was thinkin my OS is borked or something. If anyone has any advise let me know reformatting and reinstalling is a pain in the asss and i dont really want to do that.
So please help me optimize this system!

optimizing - ad-aware, spybot, some sort of antivirus program, windows defrag, and google for registry and system tweaks

overclocking - Go to the bios via "del" after POST'ing, then go to the top left menu (forgot what it's called..at school right now, can't check). Then on that screen there are several options for overclocking and such.

First off set the PCI:AGP ratio to "fixed", which keeps it a 66/33. Then for clock speed change the options to "user defined" and raise the FSB to 217 (I think that's the speed for 3500). Afterwards go down a couple options till you get to the one for the RAM and FSB ratio and set that to 1:1.

Now save and exit and test the system (benchmarks..games..prime95). If it all works out good then raise the FSB by small increments till it doesn't POST or gets unstable. Then play around with the vdimm, vcore voltage, and RAM latencies.
 
Yeah im no n00bie when it comes to computers. I was referring to optomizing my bios settings to have the best running p4 i can have with my hardware configuration.

Im an and guy who got all this p4 stuff cheap so Im kinda at a loss as to what to set stuff and what my expected temps should be. I just want the most performance out of this machine till i get something new.
 
2-4-4 memory latencies look a little strange. are you manually setting those or is that set automatically? what bios version are you running? when i first god my ic7g it would overclock my 2.4c past 2.7ghz then i upgraded to the latest bios (24 at the time i think) and i could hit 3.4.

edit: i just saw the pics of your memory cpuz shot. your memory timings are supposed to be 2-3-3.
 
According to Abit i have the latest bios for the board.
So i set the ram timings to 2-3-3
Whats the max mhz i can reach on air with this proc stabilly?
right now its just 3.2 or soemthing like that
