Hello there.

p4 2.8ghz

Do some of these cpu's have pins or are they flat with the pins in the socket?

Are there numbers on the cpu that would tell me this?

Thanks

Depends on the architecture. Northwoods were never available in SKT 775. Precotts were available in SKT 478 and SKT 775. The Sspec # would tell you, just google it.

It depends on the socket that the P4 is in. P4's had three sockets 423 478 775. 423 and 478 both had pins the 775s are LGA(don't have pins). A 2.8 GHz P4 is going to be a skt 478 or 775.

If the machine is running go get CPUz and it will tell you what socket your processor is.

More then likely its a 478 socket P4 Northwood or Prescott, as I had one years ago. Use CPUZ to get all the info on your CPU
