P4, Athlon, or both?

Noob alert! :)

I just had a quick question. I was shopping around for a new PS, and I'd always noticed that quite a few of them advertise "P4 ready" or what have you. Basically, my question is this:
are there new PSs that do NOT support a P4 connection? Are there some that do not support Athlon (XP or otherwise)? I just didn't want to blow my wad, and then have compatibility issues. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
