i was reading duru3d news when i came across this.

A Japanese guy clocked his Pentium 4 670 (3800 MHz) towards a blazing 7133 MHz today. How he did it ? He raised his FSB a teeny weeny bit towards 375 MHz. In combo with a 1.7 Volts CPU voltage, good gear and hey .. some Liquid Nitrogen he was able to maintain the frequency.

I really doubt if the processor and mainboard survived this small project though ..

That's very cool, but very nutty at the same time. I guess if you have no life and nothing better to do though, why not?
 
I'll be impressed when they do it on refridgerated water or Air.

Hhmmm..... I just received a P4 670 today. Been running some benchmarks with it and comparing it to the 570 that was in that computer.
I wonder if I can beat that 7133MHz score??? Maybe shoot for 7800MHz? :rolleyes: That would go very well with the 7800GTX that also resides in there. ;)

doubt it will be any time soon since intel's next procs are rumored to be low clock high performing chips (like dothan).
 
The last dimond core cpu test i remember seeing was a 9ghz chip ran on uber low voltaged but cost something retarded to build.
 
I'd be more worried about losing my fingers with Liquid Nitrogen than losing my CPU to it!

A FX-57 @ 3.4GHz is pretty impressive, but where do you see that the 7113MHz "barely beats" it?
