I'm reseating the Intel HSF (the round one) on a socket 775 P4 for a friend and I'm not sure how to do this..

Do I turn the knobs clockwise then push them into the mobo?
or do I turn the counterclockwise, push in, then turn clockwise?

I tried it the second way, but the temps go up to the 60s Celsius in the BIOS

You just push them in really good. I think the knobs are suppose to be turned all the way to the left before you push them in. Just push them in until you hear a snap and then move on to the next knob.

yea they all snapped in. I guess I'll boot up anyways.. it should shutdown if it gets too hot :)

edit: nevermind... I didn't snap one of them in. Works fine now. Thanks.
