I'm building my first computer, and I need to decide between these two systems:

Case: Antec SLK3700AMB Solution Series 350W

MB: MSI K8T Neo-FIS2R K8T800 SND/GBL/SATA-R/FW
CPU: AMD ATHLON 64 3000+ RETAIL BOX

Mem: 2x512 MB DDR PC3200 400MHZ
DVD-R: MSI DR8-A DVD +-R/RW 8X RETAIL
HDD: WD 120 GB 150/7200/8MB OEM SATA
Video: Radeon 9600 Pro 128MB DDR CRT/DVI/TV
OS: MS Windows XP Pro OEM

The Intel machine would be the same, except:
MB: MSI 865PE NEO2-LS 800 FSB D-DDR
CPU: Intel P4 2.8C GHZ S478 800FSB

I do some gaming (not a lot), and would like to be able to play HL2, although not at max detail. Mostly I run a lot of programs at once, like winamp, aim, bit torrent, a p2p, and opera or avant with a shitload of tabs (windows) open, like 40-50 normally.

Also, please let me know of any compatability issues with my setups.

Well, they're not really windows, just tabs within the main opera or avant browser. Like right now, I have 6 windows open: ABC Bittorrent, winamp, opera browser with 3 tabs open, avant browser with 52 tabs open, aim, and an aim convo.

I have a 2.8C and I do some serius multitasking, The hyper threading helps out a lot. I've never really used a A64, but I am very happy with my 2.8C.
