What are the normal temp range for a P4 2.8 ghz Prescott? Mine runs 47c at idle. I guess it is normal. Anyone have a link to temp monitoring software for a i865pe chipset? Thanks.

My old system was a LGA775 P4 2.8 pressy with i915g. It idled at 28-32 with Zalman 7700Cu and Arctic Silver Ceramique.

seems high. my northwood at 20% overclocked speeds barely cracks 40 idle.

I've seen my share of Prescotts that hit 80C in 60 seconds so consider yourself lucky.

Well I am running it on a Asus P4P800 mainboard. I overclocked it by 10% so it now runs as a P4 3.06 ghz. The FSB is 880mhz and it runs just dandy. I did not know about the temps have come from a AMD background and thinking Intels ran cooler. It hovers around 44-47c at idle and around 53-57c under full load. I am using a Zalman 7700A Copper cooler? I think with a veneer thin layer of Artic Silver 5. If these are normal I just won't worry about it. Thanks.

Little high for the processor, but perfectly in range. Nothing to worry about.
