I have a 2.0 P4 400fsb Compaq machine right now. I csn trade it for a P4 2.8 533. Would that fit into my motherboard?

is there anybody in there? Just nod if you can here me, Is there anyone at home?
Relax relax I need some information first. Just the basic facts, can you tell us where it hurts.

Why don't you just do us all a favor and bother to tell us what motherboard you have.
I do not believe that is asking too much. There is a good chance the answer is yes. But we just won't ever know for sure if you don't tell us.

This is a perfect example to everyone how NOT to ask a question??
Your question only makes for more questions. Sorry to bag on you but,
it had to be done. so tell us what you got and we'll go from there.

Even though it is a Compaq somebody made it's motherboard. Give me the compaq number Presario ----? Why don't you make the trade keep the new processor and maybe the mem and HDD's, Hell keep the floppy drive and the PSU only keep it to rob the fan out of it. Then put it back in the case. Take the case and the remaining intrels out to the woods. Now using a 12 guage shotgun you can do a beautiful shotgun mod on the case and the motherboard simultaneously. Hey I have seen it done!! It is a thing of beauty. Now
hide the modded case where only you can see and admire it!! Or better yet post pics of your mod. But remember in the future you could just conveniently forget to ever mention again that you ever even had a Compaq!! GENIUS!! Damn I love my brilliant mind!!
Then you go buy a generic little case a good psu put it all together turn that HDD that came with your compaq into a backup hdd. Install Winhdows on a new drive and you will have it made!!

I don't know what my motherboard is. All I know is that it is a MSI brand made specifically for Compaqs. There is little information about it and no bios upgrades, so that is why I didn'y post it. You can't tell just by the current processor?

What model is it????????????????????????

PRESARIO what?? Tell me the number!!!

Did you shine a light in on your mobo?? To see what it might say!!

All it says is MSI. I googled my pc and found that MSI designed my motherboard JUST for Compaqs. My pc is a D310.
