I had a P4 2.4C @ 3Ghz 250FSB before.. decided today to swap to a P4 2.4A w/o HT.

It's running 211 FSB, 3.8Ghz @ 1.375 vcore

It would boot into windows at 4GHz, but doesn't seems to be stable even if i upped the vcore to 1.45. I'm using stock cooler so i didn't want to upp the volt too much.

BTW, this is a E0 P4 2.4A

You're the second person I've heard from who has gotten a 90nm core prescott "budget" cpu. Obviously Intel is really cutting back on quality control and is just releasing rejected cores at lower clock speeds without HT.

A friend of mine bought a 2.4A and its actually a P4 560 that has a faulty throttle (i.e. CPU drops cycles entirely instead of skipping them at 65C).

well my self think that is a nice overclock can you post some in games benchmarks and see if it would be better to use the 2.4c or the 2.4a in games??
