I just ordered the Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3L from Newegg. I'm hoping I'll be able to bring my E6400 from stock 2.14Ghz to 3.0Ghz with the OCZ Reaper DDR2 6400 I also ordered. Do you guys think I'll be able to achieve this with stock cooling? How do you think the board will perform against my old MSI 945P neo3 board? Thanks for any input.

The P35 will 12ape the 945 board. IMHO you should be able to reach 3.0 with stock cooling as that's a very mild oc and should be able to be done with stock voltages. :D

I have my e6400 at 2.8ghz with stock cooling and stock voltages, im sure you can do it.

I was able to overclock my E6750 to 3.2 undervolted to 1.31. Of course, that was with a lapped Tuniq Tower.

I'm not exactly sure what 12ape means... but something along the lines of kick its ass? I hope so...

hi,

I was able to overclock my E6750 to 3.2 undervolted to 1.31. Of course, that was with a lapped Tuniq Tower.

Second that. This is what I am running.

Motherboard Gigabyte P35-DS3R
CPU Intel C2D E 6420
CPU Cooler Thermaltake Big Typhoon Version 1 Lapped
Room Temp about 68 Degrees

CPU is overclocked @ 3.2 GHz

Idle: 1.296 volts Temp 25-27° C
Load: 1.264 volts Temp 40-43° C

Vdroop: .032 volts
Temp Diff: 15-16° C

Higher speed? Yes. At 3.45 to 3.55 GHz I need about 1.47 @ idle for it to work on a 8 plus hour run under load by Orthos. 3.6 is a bit out of reach. I elected not to run at a higher clock speed due to heat and power considerations. Each CPU and MB is different. Results will vary. Your overclock might be work to 3.0 or to 3.8.

I hope that helps you in your quest for more knowledge with your system.
