p2v exchange server

One of our clients has a physical exchange server which needs to be converted. It has several large volumes so my initial thought was to convert only C: and RDM the other LUNs. I tried it with a test system and I can't see the data on the RDM disk. I have not done this before so any advice would be welcome.

How did you get the data on the RDMs? or are you trying to use luns that were already attached to the physical?

also what mode are your RDMs running right now?

how is your back end set up, one rule for exchange is separate physical spindles for program, logs and data files....with Exch 2010 it isnt as needed as it was in 2007 with the massive optimizations they did.

I got it to work, thanks. Anyway just in case you're still curious, it's Exch 2007 running on Server 2003, with several LUNs from the XIV storage, for the reasons MrGuv mentioned. I can't convert the whole thing because it would take hours of mail downtime so RDMs seemed to be the best way to go about it. The reason I'm virtualizing it is because they are having issues with the primary fabric and IBM does not support MPIO with the XIV on Server 2003 so I can't give the server an alternate path to the SAN through the secondary fabric. On top that, they don't have a license for the secondary FC module on the Bladecenter chassis where this server resides so p2v is cheaper.
