P182 or V600B

I'm trying to decide between the Antec P182 or the Lian Li V600B for my next case.
I want good ariflow with accomodation for 120mm fans, good cable management, and sleek look.
I like the look of both cases, but have no seen as many pictures of the V600B
Help me decide.

So if you have any pictures of the Lian Li V600B, post them up! :)
 
The psu mount in the V600 is directly above the cpu socket.
If you're using an aftermarket HSF, take the V600 off your list *now*. ;)

I am thinking of possibly going with watercooling as well which would be fine I'm assuming...
 
Those two cases are not in same weight category :). Maybe you should consider Lian Li PC-A05, but from those two you wrote i would buy P182.
 
id say the p182 out of those... you can get a v1000 for 170 something from puget systems incase you did like it.. thats where i just got mine.

I don't like the looks of the 600VB because the inner aluminum isn't painted, so the black finish is kinda distorted in the lower part

If I hadn't have bought my V1000BW PlusII (or had to have one, and trust me it was worth every penny), I would've bought a 7B PlusII...it's a very nice case without any of the flaws of the A05B. (and I've sold the A05B that I once had as well as the P182 that I had)

A05B needs a blowhole and the hard drives get no airflow.
P182 is a nice quiet case but it's huge and heavier than $#!t.
 
The 7B plus 2 is horrible. Theres no room to work, and the hard drive rack rattles like mad unless you place something under it, even then, its incredibly in the way.

Look for the rocketfish full tower at best buy. $50, its a rebranded lian-li full tower and is incredible for the price.
 
+1 to P182. Well built, plenty of cable ties, etc. I just picked one up about 3 weeks ago, was pleasantly surprised how nice it was and how well it was built.

One other note: P182 optionally usable bottom front fan spot won't accomodate any fan that's as thick or thicker than 25MM. I found a 15MM thick fan to put in there. That fan location is (supposed to be) big enough for 120MM fans, but they'll need to be skinny.

P182 is ... heavier than $#!t.

And while you're at it pick up a mini fridge to fit inside it and keep your cpu and favorite beverage cold. :rolleyes:

Unless he's building a server, he doesn't need a case that big.

for a guy with a V1000BW, you're apparently pretty damn clueless. A slew of people have bought that case, including myself, and it's wonderful to work with.
 
I am also interested in the P182 case, but found power supply wire lengths can be a problem. Anyone has power supply issues with the P182?

i really wouldn't call it an issue but i wanted to run the cables behind my motherboard and the cpu power cable was 3" to short to make it. I ran it in front and its not it they way. Just make sure to get a psu with long cables. I am looking for a extension right now since i just build my q6600 yesterday.

I didn't comment on anything about the Rocketfish case other than the size; I think you're the one who's clueless. :rolleyes:

Please, do tell me with a straight face that the case isn't larger than most cases out there that aren't designated as a server case. :p

I've got a CM Real Power Pro 750 watt. I can *just* get it behind the mobo tray and through the cutout, without it feeling like it's too taut. I have a DS3R, and the 4 pin is right near the upper left cutout.

EDIT: Otherwise an extender would work just fine. If you're building new, and haven't chosen a PSU yet, i'd checkout the P18x gallery thread, and see what people are running, and how it seems to fit.
