Hi I just got a P180

I was wondering if covering the inner panels with sound-dampening sheets would reduce the noise further.

I also am wondering what other things I could do to make the case quiter overall.

I have the same case... I doubt there is much else you can do to make it more noise free than it already is. If you are looking for extremely silent PC consider investing in water cooling OR a much cheaper option is to got for the Sycthe Ninja Cooler and run it in fanless mode ( assuming you are not overclocking or anything ) !

The P180 is one of the best cases for a silent rig at the moment. Fiddling with it further would be like trying to customize a ferrari... (there is no point!) IMHO :D

Last opinion seconded. If your fans are already all on low and its still too loud...go turn your car stereo up as loud as it goes for 2 weeks straight and then you won't even be able to hear your computer. I have all my fans on high and it still seems quiet to me. Haha..seriously though...I think it is about as quiet as it will get

I agree with both of the last posts....I've got 5 120s mounted in mine, the three originals on high, and the two others are these antecs from newegg. One is in the intake that wasn't filled and the other is strapped to my scythe ninja. To be honest, I don't think its loud AT ALL with everything on high.

If you're really into the quietness, replace all the fans w/nexus fans or pop all of them on low. rewiring to 7v is also an option. As for the cpu cooler, you could always go the fanless scythe ninja route, or strap a nexus to that.

I dont know how you can consider the Antec Tricool fans as anything resembling quiet when on high, shoot I think they are a bit annoying on low!

The best thing you can do to make the case quieter is replacing the fans with either some good nexus fans, or something like a silenX fan. That combined with quieter CPU/GPU cooling and you are well on your way to a much quieter case.

To answer your original question about the sound dampening material. The construction of the case panels already does a very good job of isolating sound coming through the panels, most of the noise you hear is probably coming from other areas of the case, adding sound dampening material would probably do little at best to reduce the sound further.

Probably 7 volting the fans is the most effective option.
Where is the noise coming from?
My P180 sits on the floor by the desk and from there the top blowhole fan is louder than I want (but it's the only one I hear). I use Speedfan to drop the RPM on that fan to 700 and then I am happy.
