P180 Door wont shut!

So I knew before hand when I bought the P180 for my new build that the hinges on the door were plastic and that people were complaining about that. But I didn't expect it to not shut tight after 2 days of use. I think it has got more to do with thermal expansion cause depending on my room temps it will either fit or won't.

Are other people having similar problems with the case?

Seriously though, here is the thread I made a few days ago and posted a fix. Hope it works for you. I know this fixed my door.

Just give it more bend than you think and then when you get it the way you want, lock the door for a bit (if possible). I had the problem where my door was bowed out from the case. I bent it the opposite direction and then locked it. Now it's perfect.

Unfortunately you can't remove that metal trim piece and flex that alone (aside from the plastic) as Antec decided to use some sticky stuff to hold that door on (along with the clips). I really think the problem stems from one of two things:

1) Each piece has a different rate of thermal expansion
2) That metal is wedged in there so tight that it causes the plastic to bow, resulting in a door that won't shut.

Anyhow, hope it fixes your problems!

Don't quote me on this, but I don't think fluctuating room temperatures are going to cause the door to expand so much that it's going to matter.

You are right, the door itself won't change in size even close to enough to cause a problem.

If the door does not shut, maybe the problem is that the little magnet in the top right of the door or behind the front panel of the case has slipped. If it has warped, that is a different problem, but you may be able to "unwarp" it by locking the door for a bit.

For me, it is definitely because of temperature.

When it is around 15 degrees celcius, the door warps so there is a noticable bend when the door is shut. But when it is hotter, i'd say around 28 degrees or more, the door is perfectly flat and it can close nice and flush.

They should have taken a leaf out of Thermaltake and Cooler Master's book and made the door out of solid aluminium.
