P-M on Socket478, Asus CT-479

Well wow... This could be the revolution we need right about now...

We know that the power of the Pentium M is there. In alot of cases, it is better than most high end Athlons at games, and certinaly better than high end pentium 4s at games.... and clock for clock, no processor can touch it... and that is using single channel ddr I memory, etc etc...

I wonder... using this converter, if the processor will be able to take advantage of Dual channel DDR, and everything else current desktop platforms use...

the last time i saw an adapter that looked like that was the tualatin adapters for older p3 boards. cool idea, especially if it allows decent voltage adjustment and the like... the dothan motherboards are the only limiting factor so far... getting one of those on a ai7 or something would be sweet.

would be nice if it works:cool:

A lot of unknown details still, but if they can get it to use the FSB as set in the bios it's got amazing potential for some overclocking goodness. If not it will still have some decent potential there, and as a S478 upgrade option. Then there's the whole quiet/low power computing advantage. Actually the first place I found those links was on the SPCR boards, and someone found a bit more on Xbit as well.

Me too.

I'm dying to try out a desktop Pentium M.. Really good gaming performance in a silent and power-conscious system. Using a P4P800 right now, I hope it qualifies.

cant wait to give this a shot. However someone in another forum pointed out that this seems to have its own power controller for the chip, so adjusting voltage via the bios may not be possible. I dont know if I said that right.
