I was actually joking about pushing like a car.......oh well.

I have been also...most of the places I hang out at also have folding teams though.....but still one or two have defected :D

Yea, Ive been like. well is your team on the edge of 100,000,000?

Help us get over that.. then you can go back to which ever team ^_^

I think one way to get more folding power is to make sure that everyone that has comps folding has them on 24/7. If everyone had their comuters running all day the output would increase dramatically.

Bad luck guys, looks like you didn't take the chance to get the jump on us. We've had a big recruitment drive, and now schools and university's are coming back here, it looks like we're going back to even production :)

Yea I'll be sticking that " :) " of yours right up your a$$!!!!!!!!!!

Just kidding, it's all good...well not realy but...

how dare you bastards cure cancer FASTER THAN US....

what is this world coming to...

we may not beat you to the mark, but it does look like we are going to overtake you in a short while...

Well it looks like all the government bloat may be useful after all. Contact you're local representatives, tell them about folding@home, and urge them to join the fight. I contacted the National Right to Life Committee today. They are aware of the fight, the cause, and the benefits. I may be totally ignored by this lobbying group, but every potential CPU is worth the asking.

Don't count out team32. I think we actually made it onto your threats list for the first time. Now if we could only shave that down to "sometime in my lifetime" i'd be happy.

This is my first visit here. nice forums.

Must have lost my mind (yet again).

Daughter's machine (1.4gHz XP) went unstable from the capacitor issue. Swapped out her XP board for a 754 A64, got myself a 939 A64 to replace the 754, and in a fit of insanity, dropped coins on yet another A64 and mini-ATX mobo for a modding project.

So, down 1.4g, gain a 2.0 and a 1.8 for the [H]orde. It might make a difference. :)

Doh! no difference. How long does it take for 25 P4 2.8/256MB working nonstop to kick out their first results?

That depends on what WU they get, mostly. The big 600 pointers might take a few days, some of the smallest projects might only take a few hours. If you have access to the boxen and the graphical client, it will tell you when they are estimated to finish the current WU.

Does this mean something good?

Edit: Ahh... I see "update processing", I assume its calculating as we speak...

Did you have Big Units on? If they are going 24/7 with big work units that I would expect an output anywhere from 1-3 days.

Yea, I was going to ask how it's even possible that our production is going down, since we've added 25+ new people over the past two weeks or so. It's really strange.

Not to mention that the majority of those have come in with some pretty good b0rg's and decent numbers of PC's.

It's probably partly because the 600 pointer units are back and they give less points per hour than the 364 pointers and similar WUs.

Let's hope so, I just know that I have been getting slammed with these small 77 pointers again... all 6 of my boxes have them right now... thats the second time this week its happened.

That trend looks a bit steep for that. I guess we have to see if it rebounds this weekend.....if so maybe.......but I don't know. It seems A LOT of people would to have gotten a 600 pointer.

And wouldn't the other teams have gotten them as well? Seems we should all roughly change stay equidistant from each other through these WUs.

I had 9 computers that changed over which is a 300-400 point per day difference. And I only produce 0.5% of the team's points..... That works out to:

300*200=60,000 points per day.... Now not everyone is switching over, but it can be substantial and definately be a big part of our downward dip. You also have to look at lead in and lead out with the 600 pointers. As the 600 point WU ran out, we got 300+ pointers completing along with 600 point WU's. For me, this caused a spike in my average points per day of about 200-300. When I started getting 600 point units again I actually went down 200-300 points per day because I went a couple of days with almost no production.....

Anyways, long dissertation, but 600 point units coming and going can have a significant change in our average points.

Yes, but I'm guessing that we have a larger percentage of Big Work unit computers running. I think we produce more points per CPU than a lot of the teams. Also, OCAU is coming out of the hotest summer months, so their production is coming back up after a dive and Overclockers has been campaigning well to increase their numbers.

Well I hopefully just vicariously b0rged a 40 station computer lab at one of my old jobs. :D I finally convinced the current admin that I trained and mentored to do it. Don't know how long he will take to ramp them up though. He's a good guy and hopefully will do it soon.

Edit: Ohhh yeahhhh I can feel it now. Rise up O ye boxen. Rise up and FOLD!

That would definately help, mate!

No, just trying to cause trouble. I'm bored.

Me too. Working on a project for work that I really don't want to be doing at home on a friday night :(

It is kinda quiet around here tonight... all this free time and nothing to b0rg... it sucks.
