I'm alittle worried after placing a order at 9amPST at newegg.com. I called placed a order and asked the guy if they will be shipped today and he said yes if you pay $2.99+$26.00 for overnight.
I'm still in step 2 of 5.
What do you guys think about this?
thanks a ton coffee :(

Likely depends how far you live from where they ship it from. Could end up being 2 days. Had that deal with another website.

If you want it tomorrow, you have to pay a premium. If you order it right now, and you overnight it, you won't get it tomorrow, you'd get it the next day anyway.

I don't know of any place that will ship stuff overnight standard.

I paid that extra 2.99 for prem + 26$ for ON.
I live one state over.

$2.99 doesn't get you overnight shipping... at least not anywhere I know of. It's fairly expensive. Actually $2.99 usually doesn't cover cheap ground shipping... so yeah...

Newegg's $2.99 thing is just a rush processing charge. If you select it they charge you $2.99 if they ship the same day. If not you don't pay the $2.99. I've used it a couple times on mid-day orders where my shipping address didn't match my billing. They still shipped same day. Of course I had my shipping @ on file w/ my credit card co., as I normally ship stuff to work since I work days. As best I can tell the $2.99 thing does work. It doesn't get you faster shipping, but it does get things out of newegg faster. There have been quite a few times when they shipped the next day if I didn't check the $2.99 for expedited shipping box.

Hrm... thanks for clearing that up Zandor.

So for $2.99 they'll PROCESS the order today, which means it will get shipped today... of course if you order early enough in the morning, you shouldn't pay for that...

Guys, read my original post and the next one.
I paid $26 extra dollars for OVERNIGHT
I also paid $2.99 EXTRA for rush :D

I ordered at around 10pm on Thursday EST (Lian-Li Case) Got the standard $15 shipping (didn't get the $2.99 thing) I got my Fed Ex numbers the next day, and got my case Monday around 1pm EST. I didn't expect it until Wednesday (thats what my tracking numbers said).

My package went from Memphis to Boston to Upstate New York (where I live) I must state that I live about 10 mins from the airport where the FedEx shipping center is for Upstate New York. I am sure that location to FedEx has more to do with quick shipping than $2.99 rush orders. If I lived farther away from the FedEx shipping center I am sure I would have got it on Tuesday or Wednesday.
Just my $.02

Just so you know, NewEgg doesnt normally update the status until after 6pm PST. It normally goes from step 2 straight to step 5 for me. Its ALWAYS been processed that same day when I do rush processing.

I reread your post, and I can't tell what you did from what you posted. I assumed that since you were asking that you didn't order at all.

I usually get "3 day shipping" orders from Newegg 2 days after they ship. I'm in Chicago, so I'm pretty close to O'hare airport. The way FedEx basically operates is that if the package is in position to be delivered early and there's room on the truck/time in the delivery schedule it gets delivered. I've also gotten things in 1 business day when they went out over a weekend. FedEx doesn't deliver on sat. unless you pay extra, but that doesn't mean the trucks, planes, and trains that transport packages between distribution centers stop moving.

If I understand NewEgg's terms, your $2.99 indeed "only" buys you rush processing. If you order at, say 3P, maybe "rush" processing gets it out first thing in the AM. If the carrier delivers it 24 hrs after they got the package, that "is" overnight delivery.

Have you asked NewEgg these questions, specifically..? Didn't you get a tracking #..?? I mean, we can guess all night but I'd think there's a pretty easy to know for sure....??

I paid for OVERNIGHT and RUSH.

....well, maybe that's what you "got". Re-read my post. I'm just suggesting that maybe you mis-interpreted what "overnight" meant.

Have you asked NewEgg about this...??

your post is a lil confusing, at first when i read whats in the quote, i thought you meant you ordered at night and thought you had to pay an extra $28.99 because you thought that was some fee for ordering at night, lol... im so stupid sometimes

It's major suckage when hardware goes dark, at a critical time. Been there..... :(

It's very possible, but again, I have to say that if your, er, "jewels" are in the vise, and you absolutely positively need hardware the next day, be darn sure at the time of the order that someone on the other end and you have a successful meeting of the minds on what "overnight" means. Hmm.....almost like I've been burned by that one before..... :D

Good luck - B.B.S.

Well the guy plain BSed me about the rush+overnight shipping and F'ed me over cause I called and talked to a person this morning and said it never had a rush on it and it wasn't even shipping till today.
Needless to say I kept my OVERNIGHT+RUSH and took her promise that it would be at my door step in the morning. I shall see.
Still at 2 of 5.

Heres an email sent from newegg.com:

Dear Terry,

Thank you for contacting us.

We apologize for not being able to ship your order the same day as requested unfortunately we are not given a reason as to why a rush order does not ship same day. The most common reason is due to the volume of orders placed that day our warehouse was not able to process all of them. As stated on our website if for any reason a rush order does not get shipped the same day then all rush service fees will be refunded. Please allow 4-5 working days for the rush processing fee to be posted back into your account.

Your order is currently being processed in our warehouse. Once it has been shipped an email with the Fedex tracking information will be sent to you, as well as be posted online.

If you have any further questions or concerns, please visit our FAQs page or you may call our customer service department and one of our representatives will be able to assist you.

Thank you,
Newegg Customer Support

Well newegg.com pulls threw again for me! I know I should of had it shipped out that morning but things happen and I can understand coming from a weekend how many orders they must have come monday morning.

Thank you newegg.com and [H] for listening to me complain. :D

one thing you are confused about is the overnight thing. its not overnight shipping its next day air. ask your fed-ex or ups delivery guy about it they dont liek the word overnight. it gives expectations that the carriers dont guarantee. as for the rush shipping, all that does is instead of your order being placed at the bottom of teh proccessing que its dropped at teh bottom of teh list of people that paid for ruch processing. theres no guarantee there anywhere that it will get processed same day. 99% of the it probably does. but theres always that 1% that doesnt make it.

why didnt you take the money you spent for rushing it and use that to ship the product you will receive one or two days later to the customer when he gets to mexico?
