Can i push it more or this is a decent Overclock ?

i have Asus A8N-SLI Deluxe motherboard

644MHz OC is very decent...although my 3000+ tops out at 2.75 (305x9) with 1.55v...I bet you can get it a little higher.

Is it E3 or E4?

I got 2.7 stable on my 3000+ venice @1.6v on air. I think it's a dang good OC....especially on this supposedly crap mobo I'm using.

You won't know how much more you can get unless you push it. You're not going to hurt anything unless you crank your voltage up too much.

its a E4 but i have 2gb ram (512x4) you have 1gb

mine does 2.7 with 1 gb ram maybe more didnt overclocked further , so should i use more voltage ? put ram on ddr 133 or stay with this combination ?

anything under 1.6v is safe for venice ? or under 1.65v ?

Most people top out between 2.5 and 2.7 with a 3000+ Venice

I am trying to figure out why you are using a 3x HTT Multi at 220FSB you should only use 3x passed 250FSB

Also 220 with the default cpu 9x multi is 1980 Mhz so I am confused as to how you achieved 2.4 Ghz in the first place.

2.44GHz aint bad, but there SHOULD be more room left in it.

Can't remember the stepping, but my old 3000+ Venice did 2.96GHz (329x9) on air using the Zalman CNPS7700CU...can't remember the voltage either for the life of me...damn that was one nice chip. :D

my FSB is 270 not 220

and if anyone can tell me the settings to try to touch 2.5 mark with 2gb (512x4) ram clocked not underclocked .

Also my A8N-SLI mobo doesnt have any option above 1.55v :( any suggestions on that other than changing the motherboard ?

Oh I misread your post you were speaking about your DDR speed :)

As for the volts look for an over-voltage option somewhere around where you set the normal voltage. My MSI K8N board had this feature.

i'll go ahead and post this since no one else has.
This thread http://www.hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=888001
is one you may find quite useful. If you know your stepping and week, you can see what others are gettin' with your same chip. If you didnt follow a guide, i'd recommend (cf)Eclipse's guide (also found in that thread). That should be enough to get you a bit further. the 3000+ is a pretty good overclocker. I used that thread to see what my 3200+ would do and how about gettin' it there and now i'm stable at 2.8GHz.

It is a decent overlock, and you probably can't go higher on the mobo. You need a board that can do high HTT for a good overclock.
That a lot of volts for that speed. I bet you could get it running stable at 1.45.

anyway to get more voltage than 1.55v on my motherboard

Asus A8N-SLI Deluxe

I'm pretty sure that's all the Asus offers for vcore...which is why people looking to get the most out of their OC's typically end up going with Abit or DFI motherboards.

I know its out there, but what kind of psu do you have, I was having problems with my 3500 until I got a new PSU, then wam bamb thank you mam stable...

i have a 680w Dual 12v PSU

What brand?

Not that many PSU's out there that are "rated" at 650W+ are actually capable of putting out that much power under normal operating conditions. A lot of PSU's on the market are rated at their efficiency and wattage maximum at operating temperatures that are FAR below what you/they would normally encounter running in a closed case home computer.

What brand of PSU is it and what are some of the more in depth specs on it? I can gaurantee you that it's not capable of close to 680W in the average case under load...most aren't. The raw wattage isn't even that important, it's the Amps on the 12v rail(s) that can make or break a system nowadays. I've seen many 400W PSU's with stronger 12v rails then a lot of 500W'ers out there. Even a highend gaming computer running SLI'd 7800GTX's doesn't even come CLOSE to sucking 500W of power, let alone 600 or 700W...the need for something that "big" really isn't there, I'd much rather grab a much more steady 500W PSU and be better off.

I have a Aspire 680w

i managed to get 3000+ @ 2.6ghz with ram on 200 , is this better or should i stay with 2.44ghz with ram at 222 ?

any suggestions ?

you'll notice the 2.6 more than the 222.
