I'm looking for any suggestions to my problem.
I have an AMD 1800+ in K75SA MB not overclocked and it's been working fine for past few years. About 1.5 years ago I replaced the coolermasterer HSF with a copper version using AS5. Last night I was getting total lockups/bluescreen while heavy gaming. Checked temps and found case to be 27C and CPU 65C. I know onboard diodes are not reliable but the HSF was very hot to the touch. That indicates to me that I still have proper heat transfer from the core to the sink. I opened the side of the case and pointed a large box fan inside and got the CPU down to 53C idle where it seemed to remain even after heavy loads. Is it worth looking at getting a new HSF or case(current one really bites). Why would this start happening now all of a sudden? I'll never make it through the summer like this in SoCAL.
