I have a 9700pro and a AMDxp 2600 with a barton core, both are stock not OCed.
I like most want to get better performance for games like Doom3 and soon HL2 but I don't want to buy a new Video card and CPU right now, I think what I have is fine for running these newer games.
I just want a few more FPS in the games, So....If I was to buy an artic cooler for the video card and a better heatsink-Fan for the CPU (it's stock now) and over clock both, what kind of boost in performance can I get ? would it be worth the money ? I'm I looking at a big boost in FPS ?

if you want to oc without doing too much just use your stock cooler and oc a little, 10% on mem and core should be fine with stock cooling. and as for your processor id get a new heatsink and fan so you can oc it up and see what kind of settings your ram can run.
