Why is this happening? I actually get about 10 less DX9 points in 3Dmark06 if i overclock it from 650/950, to 675/975 on my 8800GT XFX.

10 points: Should you really worry?

Consider: That all the conditions are the same? May you have additional background programs?

I have my doubts that 10 points is outside the margin of error for 3DMark?

Yeah, i ran them back to back.. just curious because when i raised it 50 points it raised my score by 700 points, but when i raise it by 25 it does nothing/lowers it?

I dunno, not a big deal, just curious.

I know when I would overclock my 8800GT, I never really got a higher score but it seemed more fluid throughout the tests. Struck me as odd at the time. But then again, games performed better and thats all that really matters to me. I wouldn't worry about losing or gaining points in 3dmark because the margin of error is present that'll have a chance to effect your scores. 3dmark has hissy fits.

Yea agreed it is a benchmark, nothing more nothing less. It is there to test and compare with other rigs but it is a synthetic benchmark keep in mind. I say if it games well and you're happy with the performance then that is what matters. Numbers mean nothing to me over being happy and having fun.

Good Day

core clock increases ussually show a decent gain typically in benchies dont they?
