how do i know if it's stable? what are the signs of it not being stable and i should tune it down 10mhz on each

i have it up to 500/1200 and i ran some games, rtdhtiablablabl (whatever it's spelled), and 3dmark05 and i don't see anything different than in 470/1100

also what's the highest temp i should let it go to? it gets to about 65 on load right now

The only difference you are going to see is your score on 3dmark05... which means pretty much nothing in real world apps/games.

Its stable if you can run it for 30 minutes without any kind of artifacting.

artifacts are just triangles from what i've heard? :x (that's what i meant by when i said i don't see anything different)

but if i oc i'll get better frame rates in games right?

not a whole lot more framerates.. but a slight improvement.
Artifacting is ANYTHING out of the ordinary (shading problems, "triangles", total crashes etc).

Umm... what kind of vid card are we talking about?

ATItool seems to work good for me. You can't use it to overclock an nVidia card, but the ' Scan for Artifacts ' works well enough. It will get your card really hot, I don't know what it is about that harry little cube but it gets my gpu up into the mid 70's
