Overclocking the X2

so looks like its best to get the 4400+ for the 1mb l2 cache for 50 more. should get the same overclocking results. now i fail to see any point in getting a fx55 or fx57...

The FXs are multiplier unlocked and can be OCed nicely and i think also used with registered ram.
Could be wrong tho. Way overpriced IMHO

The socket 940 FX's needed registered ram, HOWEVER, the socket 939's DON'T need registered ram.

what exactly? :p

for those who have been keeping tabs on everything, it's long been known that the X2's will overclock just as well as the rest of the revE cores :D

if my 3000+ vencie didnt 2.8ghz on air i would so get one of those x2 but im sure my little vencie would pounce it in gaming.

and no i dont multitask while gaming.

The X2's at 2.4ghz keep up with 2.6 and 2.8ghz FX's.

My X2 4400+ at 2.7GHz would probably come pretty close to your Venice in games, especially at higher resolutions where we would be GPU limited.

But the cool thing is, I can have TMPEnc encoding a DVD for me while I play games with a small drop in frame rate, whereas a single-core's framerate would be cut in half or less.
