Overclocking the 6800 Ultra

I just purchased a 6800 ultra. I was wondering how I should go about overclocking it. It will be running on air so I'm sure I will be limited. I do have a fan hole drilled through the window to throw air directly on the videocard as well. If that helps at all.
 
The Ultra doesnt overclock well, if at all. You can try a program like Rivaturner.

actually the ultra overclock hella good.. except for me which i got a schmo.. 443/1.16 now.... most people can get at least 450/1200 outta thier ultra on air..


the first thing i would suggest u do is bump the memory up to 1200 to see if it's stable.. if not it will just artifact or lock up.. no biggie
 
I bet you can get a 6800 GT to 450 Mhz Core by 1200 Mhz Memory by 1) getting aftermarket cooling 2) increasing core voltage.
I can get my 6800 GT up to 1200 Mhz core w/o aftermarket cooling and with very minimal artifacting. The only time it artifacts and I can see it doing so in the 3DMark03, pixel shader test. Other tests run fine. However, I cannot get my core past 420 Mhz
 
thanks alot for the info. WHat is the best program for overlcocking the 6800 ultra and if you dont mind does anyone know why when i start up the computer it always says the video card might be underpowered? I have one hd(serial ata), a sony dvd burner, a dvd-rom, 5 fans(1X120mm and 3X80mm, and 1X90mm for the hs), an Abit Ic7-g, A 2.8 M0 overclocked to 3.55 @ 1.675 volts, an Audigy 2 ZS, and the 6800 Ultra of course. I HAVE THE ENERMAX 550watt psu though! It has 36A down the 12 volt line. IS my psu not powerful enough. I thought it could power anything let me know please.
I have 2 separate hole connectors to the 6800. i dont know what else to do. SHould I make sure it it 2 separate line with the 4 hole connectors or should I use one line with 2 connectors on it? maybe that made no sense but i have to figure this out.
 
that psu is overkill hehe but are u sure the molex on ur 6800ultra is all the way plugged in? replug it if ur not sure
