First I've looked through the guide and understand most, but not alll of it.
I want to attempt a mild overclock on my Venice A64 3200.
My mobo:
Bgf nf4 ulta, can't find or don't know what the memory divider looks like.
HT multipliers are 5 to 1x
cpu defaults @ 200=2.0ghz
Ive tried stepping up the cpu and stepping down the memory from 200 to 166.
I've played around with the HT multipliers, stepping down, auto etc.
Problem is I dont know what i'm doing.
Can any one suggest setting to achieve 2.2ghz.
I'm postive its my memory settings that are crashing the system.
Cooling is a cooper heatsink with a 5000rpm fan, should be good enough.
Thanx

thats the memory divider
it should be a setting to run memory at 166mhz, 150mhz etc... just choose the one below 200mhz

raise fsb to 220, maybe a slight increase in vcore, just test it and see. thats probably all you will need to do for a 200mhz oc. put ht multiplier maybe to 4x. it may still work on 5x, but youll be safe with 4x

I agree, kick down the HTT multiplier. The bus cannot be saturated with current technology so even if it is under 1000 or 2000 mhz, it wont matter anything to performance.
