Comparative study of performance on A64 3000+ under several overclocking scenarios.

I have spent a number of hours doing this for my own curiosity. After completing this comprehensive study I found the results quite interesting.

I found it to be interesting that the two games were much more CPU reliant than I thought. Also that the newer 3DMark benches were much more video card reliant than I would have expected.

1 other curiosity I found was on an 8% overclock on my video card FarCry was the same and I actually dropped a FPS on HL2 after averaging 3 passes on the benchmark while 3DMark01 increased approximately 2%, while 03 and 05 increased approximately 1%.

Any other benchmarks that would be of interest please let me know.

I am planning on repeating this on some enhanced latency memory when I gather enough money to purchase some OCZ plat REV2.

I hope that some find this half as interesting as I found it to be completing the benchmarks.

I know my wife did not find it very interesting :)

CPU voltage and memory voltage were constant throughout. I used Vcore of 1.55 and Vdimm of 2.75. All benchmarks were run @ 1024X768
