Hi, to everyone first :)

Have a look at my sig. new system.

Your opinion please.

I am at 3.4 with 1.400 Vcore...running ORTHOS CPU stress-test, one hour no problems so far, TEMP in TAT during this test 57C MAX.
Longer test will follow ofcourse.

Memory running at 3-3-3-12 and 1T.......volt. 2.250

Its looks like I can run 3.5 and 3.6 but I need a lot more Vcore, this gives higher TEMPS too...63C.
I am happy with this so far...and want to keep this system for a long time :D

Sandra bandwith:
INT: 7660
Float: 7621

3Dmark 05 : 18332
3Dmark 06 : 11067

Not that of an expert, but what do you think ??...temp fine ??
Enough to play my Race Games...see own Website !!

Good job! Temps look fine, seems you have things under control. 3.6 is kind of tough for my 6600 also, I have to go from stock vcore (which will give 3.4) to 1.385 which send the temps skyrocketing to the low 70's under Orthos. I probably need to lap my IHS and heatsink though. Seems yours is under control even running 1.4V. You have some nice memory running it at 3-3-3!

wow you got your e6600 @ 3.4 w/8800gtx and that give you 11067 in 3dmark06.

i got a e6400@ 3.0 w/8800gtx and i get 10695 in 3dmark06.

that's a difference of about 370 points. cools. great overclock. i am looking to get between 3.2 to 3.4 but got to wait until summer. its winter so the temp is a bit lower around 44c at full load. if i can keep below 55-60c then i'll push it.

Thanks AndyM :)

I ordered that memory in the UK...saw in a special thread somewhere it was great memory, very happy with it so far.

My TEMP were first a lot higher...thats why I bought a Zalman 9700LED version.
Great Cooler !!!!

At the moment 2 hours of CPU stress ORTHOS...57C TEMP.

Thanks for your reply AndyM ;)

When its summer in the Netherlands...TEMP will be a little higher I am afraid :D
Hope to keep it under 60C in the summer.

Forgot, I am using that paste which came with the Zalman 9700LED box...using a little brush.

I do have arctic silver 5 myself...those TEMP are fine, maybe if I change it again it won't...you never know, so maybe better leave it the way it is ??

Hans :)

Those temps are fine.

In real life You will almost never see temps equal to those of orthos.

Though I've red review/test of thermal compaunds and AS 5 scored better then Zalman.

I agree...would be interested in that review :)

Maybe I can gain 2C with Arctic Silver 5 and is this worth the trouble ??

Hans.

There is of course a way to get higher load temps than even with Orthos... use Intel TAT to load both cores, it causes the temps to go much higher than even Orthos does.

We have almost the same exact system.

I am not seeing performance anywhere near as good as you are however.

I can't get a boot over 3.4 without a 1.51V core. Once I am at that point I can boot all the way up to 3.8 or so. Not stable in 3Dmark06 with those settings however. The best I have been able to keep stable in use is 3.55.

Orthos...well I just can't get that sucker to run anywhere over 3.4. Immediately crashes out.

What's your RAM frequency?

TAT is running at the same time...or isn't this what you mean, has TAT an own stress-test ??

Booting with 3.6 and higher Vcore isn't a problem but running blend with ORTHOS is another thing :D ...is a NO NO !!
I am trying to get it stable with even less Vcore, I mean 3.4
With BLEND I need 2.3 mem voltage to get it stable..it seems, with 3-3-3-12 and 1T setting.
Have to do more testing ;)

Is 2.3 volt. a risk...talking about warranty ??...2.2 is standard.
I have a nice air-flow.

THANKS GUYS :)

Hans.

chill with the ram voltage and lower those timings.

you would probably be stable where you want to be if you werent trying to run such tight timings.

So better try 4-4-4-10 and 1T with lower volt. 2.2 for instance which is standard for these ??

3.4 with these timings and Vcore 1.400 and 2.2 mem is already a nice result ??

Thanks for helping ;)

Hans.

Which is better, if I get it stable: ..with 3.4

3-3-3-12 and 2T.....with 2.250 volt.

or:

4-4-4-12 and 1T....with 2.250 volt.

Hans :)

Forgot: in Ntune (Nvidia) I get 1.4250 Vcore and in CPUz I get 1.3750 Vcore ???????????????????..what to believe :)
In my BIOS 1.39 !!!!!

I have tighten my Zalman CPU cooler, it was not tight enough...was scared to turn it to tight in the beginning....now have a constant 55C...so I gained 2C how about that :p

Learning all the time :)

Hans.
