Overclocking RAM - speed or latency?

I have Corsair Vengeance 8gb 9-9-9-24 2T 1600mhz 1.50v. Too much of a cheapskate to spend an extra $30 to get the 8-8-8-24 model from Corsair which I presume has better quality chips..

I currently have my i5-2500k stable at 1.3v @ 4.5ghz (bus speed 99.8mhz).

So should I now try and increase the speed of my RAM? Or lower it's timings? What do I need to do for them both? Just up the voltage from 1.5v and set speed/timing in BIOS?

And how much of a performance increase should I expect to see from lowered timings or speed? And is it worth my time to do it (ie at least no harm will come of it)?
 
I think generally extra bandwidth is better than tighter timings, but I'm pretty sure the performance benefit isn't something you'll notice or even care about, apart from synthetic benchmarks (maybe for video encoding)
 
What is BLCK, RAM multiplier? I been googling and those things come up when I search on overclocking RAM.

On CPU Z I can't see any boxes labelled with shose?
 
Somewhere I read that Intels generally like speed while AMDs general like lower latency. Not sure who did the research.

I know it was said that AMD responded better to lower latency due to the IMC. Not sure if now that Intel has IMC too, if their chips respond better to lower latency also or higher bandwidth. I have seen reviews claiming not much benefit from having faster than 1333 RAM.
 
Damn eh. No point in getting memory over 1333 for sandy bridge. Real world performance isn't affected much.
