Hi, so I have encountered a problem. Everytime I try to overclock my ram, my video card starts getting lots of artifacts...to the point where I cannot play more than 30s of any game. Anyone know why this could be happening. My overclocks are stable using memtest86.

My system is as follows:

Q6600
GA-UD3P P45
8800 GTS 640 mb
2x1 gb of transcend axeram (1200)
x-fi xtremegamer

Whan you overclock your system does the PCI-Express clock also raise? IF so thta could be why you have artifacts...

1. Overclocking the RAM above a 1:1 ratio on a Core 2 processor is going to net very little. It is better to keep the RAM at 1:1 and raise the bus speed to overclock.

2. What power supply do you have?

3.Are there and 4/6/8 pin plugs on the motherboard that you don't have power plugged into?

4. Do you have the power plugged into the video card?

4. Do you have the latest BIOS for your motherboard?

my psu is a Corsair HX 520 W. All my connections are plugged in, including my video card's 6-pin. My bios is the latest version, as well as my video card drivers.

As a side note, I think I have identified the problem I was having. I was using a 3:4 ratio, but now that I have switched to a 4:5 ratio, the problem has disappeared.
