I'm running a P4 630 Prescott 3GHz on an ASUS P5GD1-VM board with Intel HSF. Could I maybe get .2-.4 GHz oc'd out of it without having to change the HSF? I have adequate cooling in the case..

< Still trying to figure out how to OC' the processor.. And what program is good to test the Processor out on after I OC to check if it's stable.

you should get to about 3.3 or maybe a little more befor installing a new hsf but watch you temps dont let them go above 60C

download 3dmark 06 run it get you score write it down
overclock , then run 3dmark and compair your scores and determain if its worth it

-someone else explain this im a noob but no one is answering him and thats frustrating

prime95 or superpi are good programs for testing if the overclock is stable. I don't know much about your processor, so I can't say how far you might be able to OC it.
