Overclocking on Windows 7

Hey all I just installed windows 7 beta to give it a shot, but it seems that my overclock settings aren't taking effect at all. I have my CPU set to run at 3.0 Ghz but it's only showing up at 2.0 Ghz on Cpu-z and Core temp.

Overclocking worked fine on vista, and I've read about some people overclocking on 7 already, so I'm just trying to find out what's going on with my system here and why the overclock isn't taking.

I know it's brand new and not much is probably known about stuff like this with it yet, but any suggestions or insights are welcome, thanks guys.

Is that your actual speed, or just the scaled down speed since your CPU isn't under a load?

BIOS. When I installed it, the settings were still where they were when I was running vista (3.0 Ghz) however the OS was (still is) only showing 2.0 Ghz

Mine works fine. Double check your BIOS settings, and check the power management settings in Windows.

I have the BIOS set to 2.9Ghz in this one, just to see if a change would make a difference here. But it still just shows default Ghz

Edit: Sorry it's hard to see, but both programs say it's at 2.0

i had to disable the "amd k8 cool n' quiet control" in my bios (advanced chipset features) in order for windows 7 to accurately detect my cpu speed. this was not a problem for me in windows xp, but i'm not sure about windows vista.
