Alright I figured out high to oc im wonder, is it dangerous? What happens if I go to far how to I fix it?


Is there any benifits? I have an intel 3.2 ghz and I know it voids your warrenty but what if you go back to the orginal settings will it no longer be voided?

my Computer reads 3200 mhz while my bios says my host freq is at 133 and here it shows it at 200, it my bios reading wrong should i change it? http://www.pcstats.com/articleview.cfm?articleid=1467&page=4
 
i'm not really sure what your saying ... at all (your english is poorer then poor) but if you mess up you just need to reset the CMOS and every setting on your mobo will go back to the manufactuers specs. And No if you OC Intel wont know that you did, as long as you dont like try to OC with no HSF on it or something, that might lead to scorching, in which case they would know.
 
OK what I mean is my cpu host freq in bios reads 133 underneath it and when I enable host clock control that becomes bold and I can change it but, it still reads 133. If I underclock it will this screw anything up if I do it by accident?
 
No you will not screw the CPU up by underclocking. you can change the host freq. by highlighting it (push the down arrow once =P) and pgup/pgdn to change its value. You can also press enter (in most cases) while it is highlighted to bring up a list of possible choices (this may not be available for the host freq. value).

As for overclocking, its really not something to be as afraid of as people make it out to be, as long as your smart about it and educate yourself before you start playing around. There are some excellent FAQ's and tutorials in the forums that can introduce you to the basics of overclocking, as well as more advanced overclocking options. The advice I can give is to watch your CPU temperature, don't change the vcore (or vdimm) unless you know what you're doing with it (and dont just pump it up as high as it will go either), make sure to test your overclock with one or more of the many torturous apps available (see FAQs), and most importantly, don't do anything you're not comfortable with!
 
of coarse theres benefits of overclocking, but being that you allready have a 3.2ghz cpu the increase wont be all that much, expect around 3.6ghz with decent air cooling.

i like to look at it like this...

i have my 2.4c running at 3.42ghz, so its running 42% faster than normal. your 3.2c running at 3.6ghz is only 12% faster. honestly, id just leave it at 3.2ghz and work with getting your memory latencies down low if your concerned about overclocking being dangerous and voiding your warrenty.

the cpu's warrenty is voided the instant you set the speed to anything different that rated, above or below rated.
 
I bet right sense I dont have host control enabled, this must mean its auto detecting the correct speed?
 
it needs to be enabled to change the frequency yes. As for voiding you're warranty, technically yes running your cpu at speeds it was not sold as would void your warranty .. BUT, there really is NO way for intel to know. Thus it becomes an ethics question, are you willing to lie to a company to get a replacement product for something that was your fault (and in doing so putting more pressure and losses on the company which results in higher prices, or shorter warranties). Personally I wouldn't do it, its my own damned fault, i'll take responsibility, but as I said, there really is NO way for them to know. As for ram latencies, Intel systems do not benefit much from lower ram timings, AMD systems do, Intel systems, however, do benefit from higher bandwidth ...

I hate it when I try to help people and then it turns out they are bumbling newbs who don't have a single ioda of a clue. READ my posts for an answer, god damn theres either two options, it is or it isnt enabled, logic should conclude which it is.

your ability to weight them and address them being what makes you an overclocker
education (and the occassional mistake) being the key, check the other FAQs mentioned
the above discusses the consequeces of getting it wrong or being to close too the edge
its all based on probabilities
