Well, I've got a new mb and graphics card on the way and I was thinking of overclocking my s754 clawhammer that i got back when a s754 3400+ was top of the line.

When my mb and graphics card get here my system will be:

DFI NF4X Infinity
AMD 64 3000+ 2.0ghz Clawhammer (ADA3000 AEP4AP, CAAMC 0344WPMW) w/ xp-90
evga 7800gt
1.5 gb pc3200 (1gb stick g.skill 2-3-3-6 and one 512 stick Corsair XMS 2-3-3-6)

I'm having a hard time finding examples of overclocks on this cpu (here, extremesystems), i guess because its old. All i've been able to find is that C0's dont overclock very well.

I'm not looking for a huge overclock but I think 2.2 would be fine and 2.4 would be perfect.

Any of you have experience with this cpu or have any idea about it?

Just read the guide and inch by inch until you reach the CPU limit.

Yeah, just follow eclipse's oc guide to find the max speed of your proc. I hope you're luckier than me though, since my clawhammer won't go beyond 2.6 without throwing a hissy fit.

BTW, if you don't mind me asking, how much did you pick up that mobo for? My ga k8ns pro seems to be on its way out.....at least as far as I can tell. I figure without upgrading my proc anymore (I think it'll last me for a bit longer) I should be able to buy one of those mobos, and a 7800gt to give my system some new life.

you should be able to reach 2.2 but i wouldnt guarantee hitting any farther.....skt754 clawhammers are super stubborn overclockers

Well, I don't know about S754 not being a good overclocker. I upgraded my system a lonng time ago and it still runs games great. I have the S754 2800+ and it o/c's to 2.4ghz stably on a Chaintech VNF3-250 mobo... coupled with a vanilla 6800 fully unlocked and a gig of RAM it runs most games nicely (i.e. CS:S @ 1280x960 4xAA 16XAF and Q4 1024x768 HQ w/ some AA)

Good luck
