Overclocking my Athlon X2 6000+

So far I have been able to overclock my processor to 3.3Ghz from the base clock of 3.0 Ghz. Unfortunately this is as far as it will go before my bios reports "Overclock failed! Reset to default and try again." My motherboard (ASUS M2R32-MVP) has an overclocking profile that can overclock by percentages, i.e. 3%, 5%, 10%, 15% etc. all the way to 40% I'm pretty sure. Of course I can also do my clocking manually with voltages, but I use the percentages because its just easier.

Question is, anyone know why I can't pass 3.3ghz? I want to see what my proc can do, but so far that's as far as it will go and still boot into windows. I can post CPU-z if anyone wants, just ask. Its not that big of an issue when it comes down to it because 3.3Ghz is pretty damn fast but I would still like to see what my rig could really pull.

Maybe it has something to do with you using the auto OC feature. I'd have to assume you'd have better results if you OCed manually.

Thats a good point, I'll toy around with it and see what I get.
Thanks :)

-----Update-----

Hmm, didn't seem to work, I got the same error with manual clocking. Anyone with this mobo run into this issue? Seems to be stuck below 3.3ghz

i couldnt get it to OC at 3% using that auto OC feature on the m2r32-mvp, i just set it to manual and upped the northbridge and cpu voltage a bit and i was successfully able to OC my 5200+

Yeah, I went manual and was able to boot windows at 3.45GHz, but unfortunately my CPU fan became static at 3000 RPM so my CPU started to get really warm. 3.45 was as high as it would take me, tried 3.5 and it wouldn't boot succesfully. So for now I guess I'll have to leave it at 3.3GHz. :(

Unless anyone has another idea, which would be awesome (Other than water cooling heheh, cant really afford something like that atm).
