This is my first time overclocking and i would just like to clear up a few things

my spec.
ip35-E
q6600 (2.4 stock GO step)
G.Skill memory 2 x2 gig (5-5-5-15)

1) how much of an increase is everyone getting from overclocking because at stock speed i got 5103(3Dmark06). i manage to overclock it to 3.43 and only got 5333. not much of an increase for another gig of speed. am i doing something wrong?
2)does the VTT voltage help stable my OC? i kinda left this one at stock. it was unstable at 3.5 so i just turn down my FSB and up my Vcore. will VTT voltage help?
3)CPU-Z reading on VCORE correct? or bio VCORE setting more correct? i know they show different value of voltage cause of vdrop but which one is correct?
4) on speed fan. what temp. is AUX reading? because it is freaken high, 73C while my core is running at 66C loaded. this is safe? or should i turn it down?

any help would be great.

3Dmark isn't a CPU benchmark. It's a GPU benchmark.

5333 is about what I get with my quad too.

If you want to increase your 3Dmark score, get a new GPU.

What does IntelTAT tell you about your core temps?

3dmark is also a synthetic benchmark,

if you really want to test the impact of the cpu in games, you need something that isn't GPU limited.

benchmark something like fear or a source based game to see if it has any impact.

wait, im confuse now. i always thought video games depends on GPU and CPU.

Not really. Current DX9 games are *way* more GPU than CPU limited... As will be most of the games in the future.

To get better FPS in a 3D game, you need a better GPU 90% of the time.

Enjoy the 8800 GTX and Ultra era while it lasts, eventually it will fall on it's face just like every generation before it....

when do you think the ultras will fall on it's face? when the new nvidia cards come out?
