Ok so I got a new motherboard and case to replace my wife's Dell so I could overclock the processor, but I need some help.

I'm not familiar with ASUS overclocking but I ended up getting this motherboard due to price.

The processor I have in it is a C2D E8400 and the memory is two sticks of:

I know it's not the greatest memory but I'm waiting for my good RAM to come in so this is just to tide me over till it does.

Anyway, right now I think it's clocked at 333mhz and the memory is 1333? I really don't know how it works but I changed it to 444mhz and it didn't boot. Does any of this sound familiar to any other ASUS user?

A 444MHz FSB would be 3996MHz. (9x444) You are most likely going to need to up the voltages to get it stable. I'd try for a lower OC first just to get a feel for it. Try something like 360x9 for 3240MHz for now. This should not need a voltage bump.

You will need to set a RAM multiplier in the BIOS so the RAM runs at or below it's rated speed. Do not OC it, just the CPU.

This is just quick and dirty advice for now. Feel fee to ask any questions and I'll do the best I can to help.
