Overclocking gone wrong need help

i changed the ram timings to what my ram should be at in the genie bios , and enab led memtest 86+ then saved/restarted it then the video dissapeard, what is wrong? I reseated the video card etc. still no go. Is my MOBO Dead???
 
reset the cmos. have another go. I cant see how ur mobo would die from dodgey ram timings.
 
how do u reset the cmos? remember i can't see anything theres no video output
 
Open up the case, there is a jumper in the bottom right you need to work with. There is a little plastic piece covering two out of three prongs and the third prong is just hangin out next to it. You need to take the cover off so that it covers that third prong along with the middle one. Power up your computer, power it back down then move the plastic piece back and power up again, your cmos will have cleared and all of your bios settings will be back to default. This happens often when trying to oc, especially with memory settings, don't sweat it.
 
well i moved the jumper then powered on the computer, no video, then i powered off the computer after about a minute, then moved the cmos jumper back to its orginial position, then powered it back up, there was still no video :( what now ? :(I
 
try taking the battery off the board for about 10 min, put back in then try and start.
 
For one, powering your system up with the CMOS in the reset position is not a good idea. Dont do that again whatever you do.

Also, when resetting your CMOS, the best way to do it is to take the power cable out of the back of the PSU, then moved the jumper to the reset position, leave it there for 60 seconds (normally a few seconds will do, but they tend to recommend 60) then move the jumper back, plug your cable back into your PSU then power it up. Dont leave the cable in while resetting your CMOS and certainly dont power your system up with it in the reset position. Bad idea.

Also the same thing if you remove the battery, remove the power cable from the back first, otherwise nothing will happen.
 
yep i removed powercable etc. before removing b atterythen ttoookoff battery, then moverd the cmos jumper toresetposition waited about10-15 minutes. then put everything bakc then powered bakc up and s itll nothing

i killed a neo2 like that. was giving the board to a friend and forgot id moved the jumper the last time i was OC'ing it. hit the power buttun once..fans spun up for about 5 seconds and then nadda. board completely died.
 
should i just thrash this board and buy another one? i just want ot make sure this si definitley the mobo thats broken hehe
 
Try holding the "insert" key when booting up until you hear the beep, then press del. I'll look for the link at dfi-street that deals with your problem if that doesn't work.
 
One other thing to try is switching outputs on the vid card and/or trying the other slot.....seems like it worked for other ppl. Here's the "Offical" How To Clear Cmos guide at dfi-street.
